Montecucco Rosso 'La Querce' Poggio Mandorlo 2011

La Querce is a wine born just two years ago, almost as an expression of pure Sangiovese, Tuscany's most planted variety, which manifests itself here in Montecucco area with a certain intensity and longevity. A variety of ancient origin, which emerged in the area of Tuscany during Etruscan times already. The company Poggio Mandorlo pays tribute to this grape variety, with the wine La Querce, the base wine company, but which shows its full connection with the territory of origin. Thanks to the idea of four friends, united by their passion for wine, Poggio Mandorle project was born, a company that wants to exploit the potential of this area, rich in marl and clayey limestone, situated on the banks of the river Orcia. La Querce is a wine that shows a great personality, a perfect balance and a great soft, which derive in part from low yields per hectare and in part of the proper elevation in small boats.
