Bourgogne Pinot Noir Pierre Morey 2022

The Pinot Noir Bourgogne is a French wine from Burgundy that is enjoyed with great pleasure, never becoming tiring, but rather highlighting a captivating spirit. Expressive and refined, it is an ode to the territory of Mersault, where the winery of the volcanic Pierre Morey is located, a character who loves to experiment with new paths. Excellent to uncork right now, it can easily be 'forgotten' for the next 4 or 5 years in the cellar, maturing further in the bottle.

The red wine Bourgogne Pierre Morey is made from Pinot Noir grapes that grow in vineyards about 30 years old, located near the municipality of Mersault. We are within a terroir characterized by a clayey and calcareous subsoil, where the winery exclusively follows biodynamic working practices. The bunches are destemmed and the grapes are gently pressed. The must ferments spontaneously thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts in oak barrels, also undergoing malolactic fermentation here. It concludes with aging, initially carried out for 12 months in small oak barrels and then in stainless steel tanks for a period of 4 months. At the end of maturation, the wine is ready for bottling.

This Bourgogne Pinot Noir presents itself in the glass with a medium intense ruby red hue, tending towards purple at the rim. Fruits and spices dominate the olfactory examination, for a nose that also offers light hints of flowers in the background. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with a dry and crisp sip, from which a typically fruity and harmonious taste emerges. The tannin is fine and discreet, thus facilitating the drink. A label with which the Pierre Morey winery tells its production philosophy made of craftsmanship and respect for the environment.
