The vines, whose planting years range from 2005 for the youngest to 1968 for the oldest, are located at an altitude between 330 and 380 meters above sea level. The soils consist of fossilized St. Agatha Marls dating from the Tortonian, while the exposure is east and southeast. In the winery, the grapes are mounded in vertical tanks for alcoholic fermentation, accompanied by 15-20 days of maceration on the skins. Thereafter, the wine ages for 24 months in a \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003ecombination of large oak barrels and barriques\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e, followed by approximately one year of further bottle ageing before release.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003eThe color of Domenico Clerico's Barolo del Comune di Monforte d'Alba is transparent garnet red.
